Elizabeth Jane Hurley was an English model, actress, and TV personality that gained notoriety during the 1990s after she was Hugh Grant's girlfriend. When Hugh Grant's movie Four Weddings and a Funeral was the focus of worldwide interest in the media, Hurley accompanied Grant to the film's Los Angeles premiere wearing a black Versace dress and gold safety-pins. It instantly brought her media recognition. Hurley has enjoyed a thriving career, but her relationship with Estee Lauder cosmetics is the most notable. Hurley was first offered a modeling gig at the Estee-Lauder company when she was just 29 years old. The company has since used Hurley as a model for their products particularly for perfumes such as Sensuous Intuitions and Pleasures. Her most famous film work was in the role of Vanessa Kensington in Mike Myers' hit spy comedies International Man of Mystery (1997) as well as Austin Powers The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999). Hurley is currently a model and designer of the eponymous Beachwear line. Perry's early attempts to become an international star failed. She has been signed by 2 distinct record labels, but she resigned before she released any material. Capitol Records did release Perry's Ur So Gay, which garnered modest attention in 2007 due to its jolly title. "I Kissed" a Girl was a more bold ode to sexism that was accompanied by a hard edged electro-pop style. The track quickly caused debate as some critics accused it for promoting same-sex relations while others claimed that the explicit scenario it depicted catered to the fantasies of males about sexuality among females. I Kissed a Girl, the combination of excitement with a sophisticated tune, allowed I Kissed a Girl to become a hit number one in a variety of countries, and to drive the sales of her album, One of the Boys. Hot N Cold is a popular second track. Perry also wrote a lot of the lyrics for the album.
